One of my goals as a newly returned Spiritual Witch was to figure out a personal way to call upon the elements and energies for a Circle. In general I don’t consider myself Wiccan because there is a lot of practices the average Wiccan does that I am not into but calling the corners was something I learned while I was studying Wicca (and one of the reasons I was first attracted to it) and it still holds a place in my practice. I am sure that calling on the elements to assist and be present during spiritual or magickal work didn’t originate with them, it just happens to be where I learned it. I’m thankful to my Wiccan roots that got me growing.

Something that makes this personal for me is creating something that can be sung. I attune and ground best with music present. It dawned on me one day that I didn’t need to write a entirely new song but I could write lyrics to a tune that I already felt very spiritual and grounding. I was listening to random things on Spotify and Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel popped up. The immediate calling to write my lyrics to go with this tune was undeniable. It’s taken me 3 months to get it just right, and even then I am sure I’ll change it in practice when the desire hits. I’m mutable that way.

There are two versions, one short, one long, and at the end of the long version there is a short and sweet stanza for closing the Circle. Enjoy!
